Mission

  • Protecting and Conserving National Cultural Heritage: Safeguarding and preserving tangible and intangible cultural assets, including ancient temples, historical sites, traditions, and national customs.
  • Promoting the Cultural Industry: Stimulating the development of the creative and arts sectors, such as handicrafts, weaving, sculpture, music, film, and gastronomy, to contribute to economic growth.
  • Strengthening Education and Training: Enhancing human resource capacity in the fields of culture and the arts to ensure the continuity of these disciplines for future generations.

Vision

The ministry and department’s vision are to see ‘Cambodia as the Kingdom of Culture’. This vision is further defined by the following strategic objectives:

  • Enhancing Soft Power: Promoting the national identity and reputation by leveraging culture as a key driving force.
  • Fostering Sustainable National Culture: Integrating the cultural sector as a pivotal component for sustainable and inclusive socio-economic development.
